Exciting Things to Come!
It’s been a little while since I’ve written one of these things. Between working on getting Loxley up and running, my other job, and my family it’s been a little busy. It’s been an even busier and exciting time for us at Loxley Coffee. We’ve got many things in the works that we can’t wait to share with you! I’ll get into that little more in a bit though. First off I just want to say to each and every one of you who is reading this, has asked for a bag of our coffee, or at least have expressed enough interest to follow us on our social media THANK YOU! It’s because of you we here at Loxley Coffee are able to continue onward working towards opening a fully functioning roastery and if all goes well a cafe to serve you in!
As some of you may know we have bought a small shop in Fairmont, Minnesota that we need to remodel and bring up to code in order to roast in. It has been a long process, but we have purchased our roaster and soon will begin remodeling. I can’t even tell you how excited I am about this! I recently met with the architect in charge of writing up our plans for the building and he said we could potentially begin remodeling within a couple of weeks. This process will take some time and there’s a lot of extra drawings and permits we’ll need that will eat up time and money along the way. We are still hoping for a summer opening. Keep your eyes and ears open for more news about this!
We will have a lot of fun things planned during the time prior to opening. You can be sure I will continue posting these blog posts every few weeks or so. I’d like these posts to only contain information about specialty coffee but here I’ve made an exception. I am just so excited about how far we’ve come that I wanted you all to know about what it is we have going on.
Shortly here, we plan to begin a monthly series of giveaways, providing you with what we’ll call Essential Home Brewing Kits. These will contain a form of coffee maker, a grinder, a scoop or scale, and an assortment of other essentials. We’ve also got some very fun hype materials we’ve been working on with a buddy of ours that we can’t wait to show you. In a week or two they should make their debut on the interweb. We hope you enjoy it when you find out what it is!
The last thing we’ve got planned for the time being is the opening of an Indiegogo page. As you may or may not know we’re just three brothers with a passion for great coffee and we want to spread that knowledge and flavor to you. In turn, we need a little bit of help with start-up capital. It’s not cheap opening a coffee roastery all on your own dime, but we’re also not asking for handouts. We’ll have a fun tiered reward system set up for any money you give to us, whether it’s a bag of coffee, me serving coffee at a party or business function of your choosing, or you getting to help us decide on one of our roasts we’ll sell when we open.
